Round 3 Syn Sid Letter to Legion
Dear Legion HC,
It is with some regret that I have to announce the cessation of all agreements/understandings between Fury and Legion.
This is, in the main, due to a feeling at the top levels of Fury that we can no longer trust you as partners. Ironically one of your own HC is largely to blame for this (you know who you are). He sent me a copy of a thread entitled "Meeting with Sid" from your boards (I'd guess your HC forum) - I presume to impress me with the urgency of completing an agreement between us for next round. The statement was also made that if no agreement was made very soon, it may be too late as some of your HC preferred alternative allies.
It actually had the opposite effect, as on reading it I was struck by the difference between your view of a partnership and ours. The message I came away with on reading that thread was that you had no real interest in being allied, other than as a means of stopping us being hostile. It also became clear that not only do you not have control over your members (which I already know) but that there's also a lack of control within your HC: with no common vision, no shared sense of purpose and a desperate grasping for any direction that leads to survival.
That left the possibility of having just a NAP. But to manage that would involve an exchange of galaxy lists. From the thread I saw (and logs of various conversations that I've received) it is apparent to me that at least some of your HC may well give that list to other people who mean Fury no well. That leaves us unable to enforce any NAP with you.
Let me be clear: the thread sent to me is only the latest in a number of events which have led to this point of view.
I wish you well in your partnership with Xanadu, or whoever your new allies are. It's been fun working together, and maybe we'll meet at the top next round.
