A user's idle time gives how long it is since they last used an IRC command on the network. It's useful for finding out if someone's actually at the computer before you start talking to them. To get someone's idle time whois them.
To show idle time on NetGamers you may need to type their nick twice after the command, or type the command twice:
/whois example example /whois whois example
