Initiative determines the order in which the different ships fire in battle. Ships with the lowest initiative fire first, then sequentially higher initiatives fire. Ships with equal initiative fire at the same time.
GENERALLY: Ships without stealing capability fire before stealers, and finally, Pods fire after the stealers. The Cathaar EMP ships fire before anything else, and normal Xandathrii ships fire before anything else except for Cathaar EMP ships.
