Standard rounds are set to 1 or 2 months, but there are special rounds-between-rounds that are much shorter. These include havocs and speedgames.

Planetarion games are divided into rounds. One game lasts for one round, which may take anywhere from a day or two (speedgames) to 6 months (Round 3). After Round 12 rounds of PA were announced to be normalized to 10 weeks, which comes to approximately 1680 ticks.

Each round is followed by a period of havoc. There are also often speed games in between rounds.
