Round 17 was won by [[1up]] who used a controversial tactic, which was effectively eliminated after this round, whereby they kept their biggest members out of tag and used smaller barely played planets intag, thereby gaining the advantage of appearing to have a lower score than they actually did. Partially confused by this tactic the other competing alliances, [[Omen]], [[NewDawn]], [[Insomnia]] and [[Angels]] fought a number of bitter wars in the early and middle stages of the round. Thanks in part to these wars when [[1up]] moved all their members into their tag a coherent front against [[1up]] proved impossible and [[Insomnia]], notably, and others assisted [[1up]] as they hit the closest ranked alliance [[Omen]] taking huge numbers of [[asteroids]] off them in a few days, leading to a third round victory for [[1up]]. | |||
