When a planet is first created it is '''protected''' for the first 72 [[tick]]s of the game.  During protection the planet will show on the galaxy screen with [brackets] around it, signifying that it cannot be attacked. It is not possible to attack, perform [[Covert Operations|covert ops]] or [[Donate Resources|donate resources]] to the [[Galaxy Fund|galaxy fund]] during protection.
