The roid cap formula refers to the equation that governs how many asteroids an attacker will capture in the course of combat. The formula has changed a few times over the ages, in response to various changes within the playing environment

Currently, at most 25% of the target's asteroids can be taken each tick, though this can be lower if the attacker has more value than the target.

History

Until round 10, attacks took place over the course of three ticks, instead of the one tick combat we have now. The roid cap formula was designed with this taken in mind and each tick, at most 15% of an opponents asteroids could be taken, though this has been 10% and 20% as wel.
