Originally, a peon is meant to cut wood and dig gold into mines. As opposed to a grunt, which is meant to kill the aforementionned peon.


Traditionally, the vast majority of alliance members were considered peons. In more recent times, starting with the creation of [[Ascendancy]] for [[round 16]], alliance members have been given more and more access, though there's still a large variation between alliances.

A peon is a somewhat derogatory term for alliance member with no special responsibilities or privileges. They usually have access to the alliance's private channel, are in the in-game tag, are expected to participate in attacks and can get defence.

Traditionally, the vast majority of alliance members were considered peons. In more recent times, starting with the creation of Ascendancy for round 16, alliance members have been given more and more access, though there's still a large variation between alliances.
