A bot is a program that handles something a human might normally do. In PA, bots are commonly understood to be IRC bots. The list below features exclusively this kind of bot.
List of bots
- P is the NetGamers services bot.
- Pea is the #planetarion bot.
- Many alliances run relay bots, such as 1up's Mario, NewDawn's EOS or VGN's |VGN|. These bots are used to report incoming on alliance planets.
- Bots can be used to control one's planet or planets. This against the rules, but has happened at various times. MrJ made jedibot for Section in round 3. Killmark had huge bot armies in round 6 and 7. LDK have been accused of using bots several times, as have Dragons.
- Munin is the Ascendancy bot, which handles everything from access to #ascendancy to target picking, supplying intel, calculating ship efficiencies, storing quotes and slogans and storing scans. It is open-source.
- Merlin is a bot written by ellonweb, originally intended for ROCK, but a later form was inspired by Munin. It is currently in use by Apprime and p3nguins and was used in the past by DLR, Saints and Osiris. It is open-source.
