Urwins

==Origin==

A battlegroup which was formed in round 5 by Yogibear and Adam though its origins can be found in [[round 4]] where many of the members who were to later form the core galaxy, found themselves situated in parallel 22.

It was named after one of their galaxy members, Urwin, who was prone to mess up a lot, especially suiciding his fleet. So in honour of this, and the fact most members seemed to by copying him on a regular basis, the battlegroup was named after him.

The groups most successful rounds were round 7 where one galaxy finished third (7:13) with two top 10 players in Argon and Glimmer. The other possibility is round 10.5 where the galaxy came first (22:8) and there were four top 10 players in Yogibear, Adam, Dreamy and Kefalos, though this bore the least resemblance to any other Urwin galaxy due to most members retiring after round 7 and the victory was considered to be a bit of a letdown due to the ease with which is was achieved.
The flagship ViruS galaxy was also always in this battlegroup

== History ==

The name Urwins was first introduced in [[round 5]]. In galaxy 9:21, there was a guy called Urwin that was a great inspiration to his fellow galaxy members. His suicide attacks, his oversleeping on launchtimes, and his total ignorance about game stats became quite legendary (inside the galaxy). After a while people started to follow his strategy and everytime something like that happened they got called "Urwin" and they started giving out Urwin awards. A little later [[kombi]] made an Urwins Inside logo, which was used as galaxy picture, the people inside became known as the Urwins.

Urwins has always had his major roots in [[ViruS]] with a mix of [[Fury]] and [[Legion]]. The galaxy were also members of [[T&P]]. In [[round 5]] this meant they were on the winning side even through all their Urwin activities.
Probably the biggest threat in that round did not come from the official enemy, but from cluster neighbour galaxy 9:24, which was filled with high ranking [[Fury]] and [[Legion]] members, who did not really like the fact they were getting their ass kicked by the bunch of idiots in 9:21.

The people in 9:21 were (in random order) Adam, Yogibear, kombi, Dniner, Dmike, Graham, Reganio, Zero, Scollk, 'Spider, Urwin, Spoticus, Biggie, Nocnoc, Drax, Mist, Dave, Mephisto, Zelas, Slash, Balameke, Madgamer, Xanthaar, Dreamy, Mr_Nerd, Icy-Cool, Silvier, The_Void.

In [[Round 6]] the core group of people from the origional Urwin gal in round 5 merged with the top players of the sister galaxy "Ain't no Mountain High enough" to form the galaxy 2:21.
Being part of the Thieves & Pirates battlegroup they were one of the last galaxies to survive the war to the much bigger powerblock. After that powerblock fell, they quickly fought their way back into the upper regions of the Universe by the attacking top planets - with the entire galaxy.

The people in 2:21 were: Adam, Yogibear, kombi, Biggie, Spoticus, Gabber, Glimmer, Riku, Ankka, Bombom, Reese, Carson, Fletcher, York, Lys, Mist, Sera, bugsbunny, badmotor, banshee,ziffynet and cypher79.

[[Round 7]] was one of the most succesful rounds for the Urwins. Being stuck in galaxy 7:13, in a cluster with only one allied galaxy (7:12) proved to be not that bad after all. Being one of the most attacking galaxies in the universe, the entire cluster got roided and so did most of the rest of the universe.
The galaxy ended as #3, being knocked from the #1 spot only 30 minutes before the end of the round due to a member being deleted for cheating. There were two top10 planets, and 12 players were in the top250.

The people in 7:13 were: Adam, Yogibear, kombi, Biggie, Spoticus, Gabber, Glimmer, Riku, Ankka, Argon, Fletcher, Nanomatrix, Hallava, Ladybug and Fishy.

Final Ranking: 3 [=V=] Urwins [VtS] [VX] 7:13 1.516.089.000

After round 7 a lot of the core Urwins retired. But in round 10.5 the Urwins returned in a somewhat modified form and ended as #1 galaxy.

Did ToT ever actually declare war on ViruS? From what I can remember there was never really an official breaking of relations and the only attacks from both sides on each other just centred on 7:13, 7:14 and 30:14.

Retalion battlegroup

The '''Retalion battlegroup''' was founded in [[round 3]] by the Retalionairs. It was started as a joint venture for several galaxies that included players such as [[Logbat]], [[Fear]], [[Nameless]], [[Memnoch]], [[Nsanity]], [[tha_mad_man]] and Gro. They had several top 10 galaxies and top 3 players until [[round 10]] when they moved to [[planetia]]. They were loyal to one or more alliances starting with [[ICD]] in [[Round 4]] then to [[NoS]], [[Virus]], [[Elysium]] and [[Legion]].

== [[Round 3]] ==
It had its routs in round 3 but actually formed concrete in [[Round 4]]. In round 3 Memnoch, Fear and Nameless got stuck in a gallaxy together with Gro. She insisted to meet Logbat who was ICD at that time and Retalion was being formed.

== [[Round 4]] ==
Retalion started up with two gallaxys with [[86:22]] the main one being in a weak parallel 22 they fast headed up to the top 5 gallaxys within the parallel. Quickly they moved on and took other big targets like Forest but aswell even while there were [[salvage]] huggers they got no mercy. They ended for the first time together top 100. By these achievements they got to know other people like former [[F-Crew]] BC [[Lei]] who participated later with Retalion. [[Logbat]] invited an in cluster target [[AndyMan]] to join retalion in r5 due to persistant resistance to 86:22 attacks. In addition [[AndyMan]] brought along [[Mossel]], [[Promise]], and [[Insane]] from their WHO alliance galaxy. Due the strong gameplay everyone was capable to move into the top alliances varying from Legion, Fury and Elysium.

== [[Round 5]] ==
With the main gallaxy situated in [[Round 5:15:5|5:15]] the chances were right to move quick up. Soon they would find out it was a weak cluster with no resistance at all. Also with the backup from several sister gallaxys, a irc-bot army to control the cluster's situation aswell superior allies Retalion was bound to end up #3. Though the tide would change within 200 ticks accidently Fury wiped out the gallaxy even with a legion member in it and several Elysium members. [[Biggdogg]] Later on said he regretted the mistake though for Retalion there they understood the power of not only ships but politics and people started moving into higher positions within the alliances. [[Carson]], [[Nameless]], [[Nsanity]], [[Memnoch]], [[Reese]] became [[BC]]'s and [[Logbat]] moved himself in a council position. Though this should give Retalion sufficient protection even this seemed later on not enough as Fury raided [[Promise]] who was at that time reaching to be a #3 player. This due [[Fury]] claimed he was piggypacking on [[Elysium]] members. Though later on found untrue as the members under attack by Retalion were their own BG members as they realized when [[Elysium]] left the triade they would be killed so moving the astroids within the prime gallaxy would be a safe bet. Non the less Logbat ended up #3 and 15:5 top 10. Though this was the start of the end for many members.

== [[Round 6]] ==
New tactics came in. Retalion instead of having one core gallaxy found to spread the members around having multiple gallaxys to expand the firepower. Though the round came soon to an end when after a short period of gameplay a massive bot army was launched upon the top gallaxys and a big part of the Retalionairs were killed even in the turn back. Also having a spy [[Gu'ald]] from [[Dragon]]'s ment a mayor setback for the players. Though knowing next round would deliver more it was a big disapointment.

== [[Round 7]] ==
After a damaged round 6 many members were gone yet in Round 7 Retalion was back in game together with some new people like Thalira, BongBong, planet37 and decoy`. Getting nameless back from HongKong and the rest of the members in one gallaxy ment again a nice kick off and top 100 gallaxy place. Though this was not satisfying yet a good start for round 8.

== [[Round 8]] ==
Round 8 by random coinsidence were [[Logbat]], [[Mossel]] and [[Nameless]] in one gallaxy. Even while it was a random round these members formed a key factor in that round and created a new stunning top 10 gallaxy ([[27:1]])and Logbat ending up right behind the number 1. In this round many changes formed Retalion to a new hard group. First the Retalionairs moved into the promising yet flawing [[MDK]] and had to decide where to go to. Eitherway [[Titans]] or [[ViruS]]. It was virus they moved in. ViruS just setup the idea of battlegroups and Retalion became one of them. Every week when ViruS would notify the avarage and top scores of every battlegroup Retalion was number 1. This formed sometimes a draft between the other ViruS members and the Retalionairs aswell with [[Nameless]] recruiting badly from the ViruS members to collect a battlegroup never as strong before.
Also from outside Retalion gained more and more power within other alliances via [[SKYY]]. SKYY was a norwegian group yet had also a crown member group with some [[Elysium]] and [[RaH]] members in it. Via here was Retalion capable of guiding tons of attacks where they could really flex their muscles.

It is with the upmost sadness that i must announce the end of ViruS in Planetarion.

i never thought i would either contribute, or even force myself to write the following:

We've had our definate ups and our definate downs, and i don't regret being a part of either the ups or downs, cos both brought ViruS closer together as a sort of family, and definate friends. Over the past 9 or so rounds, almost everything ive had to do with planetarion revolved around ViruS somehow, the friends that i made when 1st joining, to the friends i made at the end and in between. The friends we've made with other people in other alliances who were coordinating with ViruS... for many a round now, its only been ViruS for me. Most of my memories in Planetarion are due to ViruS. Hell, it seems just like yesterday, where in round 5, ViruS held its own against the mighty Legion when they tried to pick on us, or when we were all in #monkeybusiness in round7 yelling at each other... be it sirad attacking Praetorian... or Sention attacking Singu (lo RaH... LENIN btw :P). Or even arguably destroying our legendary former ally, Fury, with Titans and LDK. Even to the massive upset known as VVOMM vs NARWEET... all of the big events i took part in in my planetarion career had to do with ViruS. Our undoubted highs were in round 7 and 8 where we had major contributions into who won those rounds, and even managing spots in the winner's circles.

When i think of most people who are in ViruS im often reminded of that argument of which comes first, galaxy or alliance- Most of ViruS, im sure, would pick alliance. ViruS was more the just a source of defence and targets for people. It was an established military might with an arguably incomparable community tightness. People were loyal to ViruS. I, personally, am amazed at how loyal some of our members turned out to be, after a round 9 like we had, being simply beat, an alliance split off... both of which we never recovered... its amazing that up until this post, i can think, and admire, every single one of our many members who have stuck it through until today. You wont EVER find a more loyal, nor proud group of players... friends... elsewhere in Planetarion.

ViruS, i can say with sheer glee, honesty, admirance, is a legend upon legends in this legendary game. and from this point onward, when it comes to Planetarion at least, that is all we will be. No longer are we an alliance.

Our reasons for this said decision is simple: while myself and everyone else are stil loyal to ViruS, we, as a whole, are no longer motivated for whatever the reason. And at the executive level, especially, we were no longer motivated either. We would simply rebuild... but for what? By the time that is done, there wouldnt be a game to show off for. Our loyal and proud members deserve a chance, somewhere where they can have the chance to be the great planentarion players that they are, with the support, and motivated leadership which they deserve.

Over the rounds, a rough estimate of 3000 people have come into virus, been infected... weither or not the name is gone... the universe will never be cured of those infected. ViruS has left a place in the hearts of whom it has infected...

'''ViruS''' was an alliance from [[Round 3]] to [[Round 10]], led at its beginning (mostly) by [[Irvine]]. ViruS had its origins in [[XFA]] in [[Round 1]] and [[Round 2]] when a bunch of smaller alliances such as [[DPA]] merged with [[XFA]] to create the [[UXF]]. [[UXF]] was bloated in numbers and its founders decided to cutback and make a smaller more elite alliance. A filtering process was done and the new revamped [[UXF]] was renamed to ViruS. Soon after though, the leaders of ViruS didn't like what they had created and, leaving [[Irvine]] in charge, they split off to make the legendary [[Xanadu]]. Under its various leaders, ViruS grew into an alliance to be reckoned with.

ViruS's prime was arguably in [[Round 7]] or [[Round 8]]. In [[Round 7]] ViruS was part of the powerful [[FLTV]] block. Throughout a round of ramblings and backstabbings within that block, ViruS still emerged as one of the top at the end of the round. [[Round 7]] also marked the round ViruS split with her long time ally [[Fury]] in a bitter fued regarding the workings and backside dealings within FLTV and set up for a [[Round 8]] war. In [[Round 8]] ViruS alligned herself with [[Titans]] and [[LDK]] in an effort to make sure that [[Fury]], [[RaH]], or [[FAnG]] did not win. ViruS and her allies succeeded, with the three of them dominating the top100.

After those two successful rounds, a massive blockwar was setup for [[Round 9]] with ViruS in [[VVOMM]] vs [[NAR]][[WEET]].

Between the end of [[Round 6]] and [[Round 8]] ViruS had a recruitment alliance named [[Infection]].

ViruS' HC over the rounds

[[Round 3]] - Grim, Zip, Sastul, Punisher created and ran Virus through most of round 3 but announced half way through the round that they would be leaving at the end to form a new alliance, after which Irvine would be the new UL. Deciding not to keep leaders who may not have been fully working for the alliance Irvine took over sooner and removed the old HC from the alliance. He then appointed Zuper as his number 2. During the round Virus was to merge with [[The Empire]] at which point Rabbagast was brought into the HC team.

[[Round 4]] - [[Irvine]] was UL (a restructuring early on in the round changed this to CE when the ViruS squads were scrapped, to be replaced with 8 Military Officers instead) and was supported by [[Zuper]], [[Ghost]], [[Rabbagast]] and [[Ivan]] who was recruited from [[TFD]]. [[Pin]] and [[TheRand]] were appointed HC shortly into the round but Rand left not too long after. During the round Irvine quit PA and was replaced by [[Biggie]] as CE who then promoted [[Privateer]]. Shortly after this [[Zuper]] also quit in support of Irvine and was replaced by [[Viper]]. [[Pin]] stepped down at the end of the round.

They were replaced by [[Aaranaf]] and [[Ladybug]] on a temporary basis though this was to eventually become permanent. A few days later Biggie and Viper were invited to return by the other HC after lengthy negotiations and due to popular request amongst members but during the meeting to announce this Irvine declared he was resigning from ViruS.

[[Round 8]] - The HC during this round was [[Adam]], [[Aaranaf]], [[Ladybug]] and [[Viper]]. Adam stepped down at the end of the round and was replaced by [[Sir_Kon]] and [[Itsy]].

[[Round 9]] - [[Aaranaf]], [[Ladybug]], [[Sir_Kon]], [[Itsy]] and [[Viper]] were the HC during this round. During the round Itsy stepped down and was replaced by [[Fletcher]].

[[Round 9.5]] - The round started with [[Ladybug]], [[Aaranaf]], [[Fletcher]], [[Viper]] and [[Sir_Kon]] as HC. Sir_Kon left mid-round but then returned a few weeks later when Ladybug and Viper were kicked (They then then went on to create [[Seraphim]]). At the same time [[Adam]] was again promoted to HC. Sir_Kon stepped down at the end of the round and was replaced by [[Turtle]].

[[Round 10]] - The HC to disband ViruS were [[Aaranaf]], [[Adam]] and [[Turtle]] who made it officall by posting a final [[Virus Announcement]].

[[Round 3]] - [[The Galactic Vikings]] which ended near the end of the round. There were also alliances with [[TFD]] and [[Aim]] formed mid round.

[[Round 4]] - Allied with [[Fury]] which caused [[TFD]] and [[Aim]] to break off the alliance. There was also a nap with [[BlueTuba]] and for parts of the round [[Wolfpack]].

[[Round 5]] - ViruS were allied with [[Fury]] and then napped with [[BlueTuba]], [[ToT]] and [[WPO]]. Later on in the round there was cooperation with [[Xanadu]] and [[Ni!]] against [[Legion]] and [[Elysium]]. There was also agreements with [[G-II]] and [[MI]].

[[Round 8]] - ViruS were allied with [[Titans]] and [[LDK]].

[[Round 9]] - ViruS were allied with [[Olympians]] and [[Madcows]] at the start of the round. This was later extended to [[Vision]] and [[Ministry]] to create [[VVOMM]]

[[Round 9.5]] - ViruS had no naps or alliances.

After the various political refactorings in [[round 6]], [[Xanadu]] quickly set about organizing a renewed resistence block to counter the [[FLTTV]] axis. Unfortunately many [[FoS]] and [[Xeta]] members were dissillusioned with eachother, leading to a fairly weak early block [[Newx]], that was countered by a generally (but not unanimously) underrated FLTTV with reinforcements from [[FAnG]] and [[RaH]].

ToT itsself was still a very small ally, but altogehter we had 60 activ and combative members. We restructured our attacksystem and were able to involve a lot of FLTTV gals in our attacks so that also ToT was able to join the war of the topalliances.
After 5 weeks of war, FLTTV had killed nearly all top - NEWX gals and planets. A 3 week take out of NEWX followed and all were arguing about the stagnation in the universe.

So it happend what every time happens in such situations, the winner block splitts. Fury declared war on Titans and FAnG whom ViruS also declared war on.. Legion declared war to [[RaH]] and FAnG. Through the good relation between ToT and FAnG command, we decided to help FAnG as much as possible without declaring war to ViruS, Legion and Fury because with our low membercount we werent really able to join the war of the topalliances which had 3-4times of our membercount.

So the splitt of the block was big problem for ToT through loosing controll over a lot FLTTV gals. Anyway we tried to stay neutral but after a lot retal actions we decided to retal our old allies ViruS and helped FAnG in the attacks on ViruS' top galaxy 7:13. We fought them till the end of the round and it ended in a tie. Except one galaxy our enemys werent really able to hit us. Good working defence and a lot good battles made the round to a big success for ToT.

Nearly all our gals ended in top100 and nearly all members in top1000 planetranking.
With the end of R7 also a lot of old alliances left the game. [[Xanadu]] and [[Legion]] were surely the most important of them.
So political situation for R8 was quiet interesting.

Throughout a round of ramblings and backstabbings within that block, ViruS still emerged as one of the top at the end of the round. [[Round 7]] also marked the round ViruS split with her long time ally [[Fury]] in a bitter fued regarding the workings and backside dealings within FLTV and set up for a [[Round 8]] war. In [[Round 8]] ViruS alligned herself with [[Titans]] and [[LDK]] in an effort to make sure that [[Fury]], [[RaH]], or [[FAnG]] did not win. ViruS and her allies succeeded, with the three of them dominating the top100.

After those two successful rounds, a massive blockwar was setup for [[Round 9]] with ViruS in [[VVOMM]] vs [[NAR]][[WEET]].

ViruS' HC over the rounds

[[Round 3]] - Grim, Zip and some others who stepped down mid round to be replaced with [[Irvine]] as UL who was supported by [[Zuper]], [[Ghost]], [[Rabbagast]] who was appointed when [[TE]] merged with ViruS and [[Ivan]] who was recruited from [[TFD]]. [[Pin]] was promoted to HC at the end of the round.

[[Round 4]] - ViruS started round 4 with [[Irvine]] as CE and [[Zuper]], [[Rabbagast]], [[Pin]] and [[Ivan]] as the other HC. [[TheRand]] was appointed HC shortly into the round but left not too long after. During the round Irvine quit PA and was replaced by [[Biggie]] as CE who then promoted [[Privateer]]. Shortly after this [[Zuper]] also quit in support of Irvine and was replaced by [[Viper]]. [[Pin]] stepped down at the end of the round.

[[Round 5]] - [[Biggie]] was CE with [[Viper]], [[Privateer]], [[Rabbagast]] and [[Ivan]] as HC. During the round [[Biggie]] stepped down as CE and [[Irvine]] returned. After an argument then later in the round Irvine kicked Rabbagast and Ivan. At the end of the round Privateer quit pa and was replaced by [[Adam]].

[[Round 6]] - [[Irvine]] was CE and supported by [[Biggie]], [[Adam]] and [[Viper]] and then [[Zuper]] returned mid round.

During the round [[Biggie]] quit after an argument with [[Irvine]] and the next day Viper was kicked from the alliance for being abusive to, and slagging off Irvine on the planetarion forums.They were replaced by [[Aaranaf]] and [[Ladybug]]. A few days later Biggie and Viper were invited to return by the other HC after lengthy negotiations and due to popular request amongst members but during the meeting to announce this Irvine announced his resignation from ViruS.

[[Round 8]] - The HC during this round was [[Adam]], [[Aaranaf]], [[Ladybug]] and [[Viper]]. Adam stepped down at the end of the round and was replaced by [[Sir_Kon]] and [[Itsy]].

[[Round 9]] - [[Aaranaf]], [[Ladybug]], [[Sir_Kon]], [[Itsy]] and [[Viper]] were the HC during this round. During the round Itsy stepped down and was replaced by [[Fletcher]].

[[Round 9.5]] - The round started with [[Ladybug]], [[Aaranaf]], [[Fletcher]], [[Viper]] and [[Sir_Kon]] as HC. Sir_Kon left mid-round but then returned a few weeks later when Ladybug and Viper were kicked who then went on to create [[Seraphim]]. At the same time [[Adam]] was again promoted to HC. Sir_Kon stepped down at the end of the round and was replaced by [[Turtle]].

[[Round 10]] - The HC to disband ViruS were [[Aaranaf]], [[Adam]] and [[Turtle]].

ViruS' alliances and naps

[[Round 3]] - The Galactic Vikings([[TGV]]) which ended near the end of the round. There were also alliances with [[TFD]] and [[Aim]] formed mid round.

[[Round 4]] - Allied with [[Fury]] which caused [[TFD]] and [[Aim]] to break off the alliance. There was also a nap with [[BlueTuba]] and for parts of the round [[Wolfpack]].

[[Round 5]] - ViruS were allied with [[Fury]] and then napped with [[BlueTuba]], [[ToT]] and [[WPO]]. Later on in the round they to also work with [[Xanadu]] and [[Ni!]] against [[Legion]] and [[Elysium]]. There was also agreements with [[G-II]] and [[[MI]].

[[Round 6]] - ViruS were allied with [[Fury]] and [[ToT]] and had naps with [[Legion]], [[Titans]] and [[Instinct]].

[[Round 7]] - ViruS were allied with [[Fury]], [[Legion]] and [[ToT]]. There was also naps with [[FAnG]] and [[Titans]]. Near the end of the round the nap with [[FAnG]] and the alliance with [[ToT]] were broken.

[[Round 8]] - ViruS were allied with [[Titans]] and [[LDK]].

[[Round 9]] - ViruS were allied with [[Olympians]] and [[Madcows]] at the start of the round. This was later extended to [[Vision]] and [[Ministry]] to create [[VVOMM]]

[[Round 9.5]] - ViruS had no naps or alliances.

[[Round 10]] - ViruS had no naps or alliances.

'''ViruS''' was an alliance from [[Round 3]] to [[Round 10]], led at its beginning (mostly) by [[Irvine]]. ViruS had its origins in [[XFA]] in [[Round 1]] and [[Round 2]] when a bunch of smaller alliances such as [[DPA]] merged with [[XFA]] to create the [[UXF]]. [[UXF]] was bloated in numbers and its founders decided to cutback and make a smaller more elite alliance. A filtering process was done and the new revamped [[UXF]] was renamed to ViruS. Soon after though, the leaders of ViruS didn't like what they had created and, leaving [[Irvine]] in charge, they split off to make the legendary [[Xanadu]]. Under its various leaders, ViruS grew into an alliance to be reckoned with.

ViruS's prime was arguably in [[Round 7]] or [[Round 8]]. In [[Round 7]] ViruS was part of the powerful [[FLTV]] block.
