== Background ==
'''F-Crew''' was founded by [[Bazz]], [[Mike]] and [[Wakey]] back in round 1 while sitting in the local McDonalds. [[Bazz]] and [[Mike]] had just been introduced to [[Planetarion]] by [[Wakey]] and together they quickly realised they weren't the only ones at their 6th Form College to be playing this new game. So F-Crew was born with the goal to serve these people, although it quickly became an alliance to serve the whole Farnborough Community.

The alliances turning point came at the start of our second week with the application of [[Seventh]] to join our ranks. While he wasnt from Farnborough he was from just down the road and from here on the requirement to be a resident of Farnborough was dropped. This obviously saw a change in F-Crews aims, these new aims somewhat mirrored those of [[IPC]]'s which quickly led to the two alliances forming a friendship that would pretty much last until [[IPC]] disbanded its PA operations in Round 10.5, after playing that round with their members under the F-Crew tag.

== Rounds ==

F-Crew has had a turbulant history, from its glory days where it was fighting tooth and nail with [[Concordium]] to the dark days after P2P and pre-[[Round 10|PAX]]. Below is a brief description of some of the important events in F-Crew History.

=== Round 1 ===

When '''F-Crew''' entered the game all the main alliances present in the game were based round the [[Clusters]]. Some of them were starting to but [[F-Crew]] were one of the first alliances to start up without a cluster alliance at its base.

Life started slowly for '''F-Crew''' with our requirement for members having to live in Farnborough holding us back but once [[Seventh]] was accepted and our rules relaxed the alliance sprung into life. By the end of the round we were pushing 300 members.

On the war front the round was fairly quite. There were a couple of small squirmishes but nothing significant.

=== Round 2 ===

With the membership numbers at a level that was beyond anything that was envisioned a new membership structure was introduced. While [[Bazz]], [[Mike]] and [[Wakey]] remained in HC positions the rest of the alliance was placed into wings in an attempt to make things easier to manage and to allow the alliance to work more effectively.

Each wing consisted of between 18 and 22 members with a Team Leader overseeing them. The Team Leaders were :-

The makeup of the teams was fairly complex. The teams were split firstly by mission focus with half the teams being defence based and half attack based. These groups were then split further so that some were “daytime” teams and others were “nightime” teams. Additionally each group had a couple of “Special Forces” and these teams could be raised at a moments notice. Assignment to the teams started by placing the more experienced players into the teams to provide the core with the new and inexperienced players then being assigned to the relevant teams.

[[Round 2]] started with a bang. Almost immediately a small but organised alliance called the [[Sulla]] alliance started to attack our members. With a new feature of [[Alliance Tags]] being introduced for [[Round 2]] it made the Intel side of the game extremely simple and the new wing system in place the threat was quickly neutralised.

The dust had barely settled when a major war appeared on the horizon. Suddenly [[F-Crew]] noticed an unusual amount of incoming [[Concordium]]. With no official declarion of war from coming from [[Concordium]], [[Wakey]] confronted [[Jonka]] and was informed it wasn’t an alliance attack but some members doing their own thing. When the attacks continued [[Wakey]] twice more confronted [[Jonka]] who again stated it was not an official attack. Finally on the 4th time of asking [[Jonka]] admitted that [[Concordium]] were at war with [[F-Crew]]

A chance encounter between [[Bazz]] and the high command of the newly formed [[UXF]] alliance made it clear that [[F-Crew]] weren’t the only alliance that [[Concordium]] had declared war on and the two alliances started discussions about how they could work together to fight a common enemy.

[[Concordium]]’s structure was the main roadblock in any plans to fight them. Not only did anyone attacking them have the main alliance to deal with but they would also have to deal with their Internal Wing [[Legion]], their junior wing [[WaCjr]] and their strong allies [[TPE]]. It was decided that if there was to be any chance of success then additional alliances would need brought into the fold.

Upon approaching long term allies [[IPC]] and [[New Dawn]] a parallel plot to take down [[Concordium]] was uncovered. This was being organized by [[Zeus]] in an attempt to liven the game up. The two plans were merged and invites were extended to [[Blue Tuba]], [[hirr]], [[Suicide Kings]] and [[RE]]. This left all the perceived top alliances but [[Blue Tuba]] who declined the invite, on the brink of war. There was a lot of debate about inviting [[Fury]] who hadn’t yet shown their potential and initially they weren’t included in the preparations although at the end they were invited to attack [[TPE]] in an attempt to prevent them retaliating on behalf of [[Concordium]].

* The Farnborough Crew was never intended to be the alliance's name. It was a temporary name used as a site title placeholder but it stuck.
* The shortened name of F-Crew didnt appear until Round 3 and was a product of an alliance-wide compitition to make the alliance name edgier.
* F-Crew is the longest running alliance having been created in Round 1.
* F-Crew is also the only alliance to have played every round uninterrupted.
* [[Wakey]] is one of the few Round 1 veterans to have only been a member of a single alliance.
* [[Wakey]] still hasn't finished the new [[F-Crew]] site
* F-crew broke HC [[Cm]]'s curse whereby every alliance before disbanded within 1 round of him joining

''Bazz'' is the Co-Founder of [[F-Crew]]. The initial idea of starting the alliance came from him and he persuaded real life friends and fellow PA players [[Mike]] and [[Wakey]] to help him organise it.

Due to starting University in Coventry ''Bazz'' too a short break towards the end of [[Round 2]] and the start of [[Round 3]] before returning full time for [[Round 4]]. He retired from the game sometime around [[Round 8]] but can still be found hanging around #f-crew from time to time.

== Did You Know? ==
* ''Bazz'' was renowned for his passion for finding bargains. And when he found a bargain he wouldn’t shut up about it. This is probably explained by his Scottish ancestry
* ''Bazz'' had an unhealthy obsession with the 90's One Hit Wonder Chesney Hawkes.

F-Crew has had a turbulant history, from its glory days where it was fighting tooth and nail with [[Concordium]] to the dark days after P2P and pre-[[Round 10|PAX]]. Below is a brief description of some of the important events in F-Crew History.

=== Round 1 ===

When '''F-Crew''' entered the game all the main alliances present in the game were based round the [[Clusters]]. Some of them were starting to but [[F-Crew]] were one of the first alliances to start up without a cluster alliance at its base.

Life started slowly for '''F-Crew''' with our requirement for members having to live in Farnborough holding us back but once [[Seventh]] was accepted and our rules relaxed the alliance sprung into life. By the end of the round we were pushing 300 members.

On the war front the round was fairly quite. There were a couple of small squirmishes but nothing significant.

=== Round 2 ===

With the membership numbers at a level that was beyond anything that was envisioned a new membership structure was introduced. While [[Bazz]], [[Mike]] and [[Wakey]] remained in HC positions the rest of the alliance was placed into wings in an attempt to make things easier to manage and to allow the alliance to work more effectively.

Each wing consisted of between 18 and 22 members with a Team Leader overseeing them. The Team Leaders were :-

The makeup of the teams was fairly complex. The teams were split firstly by mission focus with half the teams being defence based and half attack based. These groups were then split further so that some were “daytime” teams and others were “nightime” teams. Additionally each group had a couple of “Special Forces” and these teams could be raised at a moments notice. Assignment to the teams started by placing the more experienced players into the teams to provide the core with the new and inexperienced players then being assigned to the relevant teams.

[[Round 2]] started with a bang. Almost immediately a small but organised alliance called the [[Sulla]] alliance started to attack our members. With a new feature of [[Alliance Tags]] being introduced for [[Round 2]] it made the Intel side of the game extremely simple and the new wing system in place the threat was quickly neutralised.

* The Farnborough Crew was never intended to be the alliance's name. It was a temporary name used as a site title placeholder but it stuck.
* The shortened name of F-Crew didnt appear until Round 3 and was a product of an alliance-wide compitition to make the alliance name edgier.
* F-Crew is the longest running alliance having been created in Round 1.
* F-Crew is also the only alliance to have played every round uninterrupted.
* [[Wakey]] is one of the few Round 1 veterans to have only been a member of a single alliance.
* [[Wakey]] still hasn't finished the new [[F-Crew]] site
* F-crew broke HC [[Cm]]'s curse whereby every alliance before disbanded within 1 round of him joining

Those two are quite possibly the first two people to singlehandly bring down a Planetarion alliance. You see, those words managed to de-rail [[F-Crew]] for the entirety of [[Round 7]]. Now, while [[Wakey]] is trying to convince you we get into dangerous situations, rescue [[Bazz]] and that [[Brows]] is the evil genius behind an elaborate plot to bring down the F-Crew HC, I’m going to tell you the truth. The sad truth. [[F-Crew]] doesn’t spend all round playing Planetarion, the entire alliance is geared to hunting down people with the name Simon Wakefield.

Now, this started in a pub. With [[Wakey]], [[Bazz]], [[Mike]] and [[Pelleon]]. Yes, [[Wakey]] was in a pub. I can hear everyone gasping now. Furthermore, they were drunk. No, [[Wakey]] wasn’t drunk, he was guzzling cokes. Now, in a discussion regarding the aforementioned book and Dave Gorman’s search for other Dave Gormans, [[Wakey]] got a little too enthusiastic and decided to make a bet regarding his real name, Simon Wakefield, and his possible aliases. '“You know what, I bet there are more Simon Wakefields out there than Dave Gormans. ”

[[Bazz]] seemed to take offence. “Look [[Wakey]], just face it, Simon Wakefield is a pretty rare name. You’re unique, you’re individual. Even if there were lots of Simon Wakefields out there, you’re not going to meet them. You haven’t got the time. You run a Planetarion alliance ffs .”

“Alright then, I bet that I can locate more Simon Wakefields than Dave met Dave Gormans .”

In his defence, [[Wakey]] says he was very high on caffeine. At least [[Bazz]] has the defence that he was drunk.

“And I bet you can’t. In the morning, this will all be forgotten, and you can get back to yelling at [[LMO]]
on IRC .”

So the gauntlet was thrown down.

The next morning [[Bazz]] woke up. Suffice to say he was feeling a little hung over. This was amplified when [[Wakey]] instructed him to “get his coat” and “meet him downstairs”.

Within two hours, they were on their way to Newcastle-under-Lyme. [[Bazz]], understandably, wasn’t pleased about this.

“[[Wakey]], it’s eight in the morning. You woke me up at six to drag me up to see what? Another Simon
Wakefield? The one I have here is
enough for me! ”
“Don’t worry, we’ll be back in time for lunch .”
“I need to start my Asteroid Locations! At this rate, I’ll be at least six hours behind getting asteroid
scans! ”
“[[Bazz]], when you look at it like that, does it really matter?”
“Yes! Especially when it’s compared to being dragged along to meet another Simon Wakefield. I can do that
whenever I want. Once you’ve met
one, you’ve met them all. ”
“This one’s a very special Simon Wakefield. He’s a golfer. ”
“Oh great. The only sport more boring than cricket. Man, if you wanted to play golf,why didn’t you just go
down to the local green? It’s
cheaper and nearer for crying out loud! ”
“Simon isn’t just any golfer. He’s a golfer on the PGA European tour. There weren’t any famous golfing Dave
Gormans, now, were there? I remembered last night that I had encountered another Simon Wakefield. You
know, he only just missed out in some important golfing
tournament ”
“Oh, whoop-de-doo! Where are we going anyway? ”
“Newcastle-upon-Lyme, home of Simon Wakefield. I rang this morning before you got up and arranged to meet him
at his local golf course.
Thought it would be amusing, though I’m not sure he did. He seemed a little sleepy. ”
“What kind of place is Newcastle-upon-Lyme? Why couldn’t he just live in Newcastle? What did he say when you
told him you were another
Simon Wakefield? ”
“Er, I didn’t. I told him we were big fans of his. He seemed quite pleased. ”
“Probably doesn’t get a lot of fans. Certainly not psychotic ones. How are you going to document this
incident anyway? ”
“I borrowed [[Brows]]’ webcam.”
“You borrowed it? When did you have the time to do that? You got me up at six bloody o’clock. What the blazes
did [[Brows]] say when you
asked him for his webcam at five am? ”
“This is not the time to get into that [[Bazz]] … ”

“Where the hell is my webcam?”.

Brows was clearly not having a good morning.

“One day into the round and things are already falling apart. Oi DoUrden, look, we’ve got a lot of work to
do. I can’t seem to raise Wakey
or bazz at all. They must be out. Pell could be away for days and no-one would notice. As for Mike, he seems
to be idling more than usual.”

“Surely we can’t be the only ones awake? They have to be on to start their asteroid locations or they’ll
never get them in time. What about Rekki? Mono? LMO? Eddie? Dark Reaper? Andrea? Wolflinn? CM? TSP?”

“Rekki’s Internet connection is down, Mono claims he’s discovered something called real life,haven’t seen LMO
or Eddie all morning, Dark
Reaper’s still only talking about defecting back,I can only assume Andrea’s off spamming somewhere, haven’t
seen Wolflinn or CM either, and TSP is off fixing himself a Full English breakfast.”

“Can’t you ring Wakey on his mobile?” DoU replied.

“Sure, if my phone hasn’t been pinched! Someone’s nicked me webcam!”

It took a few minutes for Brows to reach Wakey on the phone, but he did manage it.

“Wakey, where the blazes are you? We need you back here, not gallivanting off elsewhere. No one’s turned up and we need you for leadership, and to argue with LMO” Brows hollered into the phone, with DoU snickering when Wakey and leadership were mentioned.

“I’m heading to Newcastle-under-Lyme.”
“Why?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll get into that later.”
“What are we supposed to do now! Everyone seems to be out of it now.”
“Well, we have a very important mission. Tell everyone to forget about astro scans and quests. I need you to
find out everything you can about the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cardiff.”
“Why?”
“Er, the council wants us to. It’s the new objective, and apparently you get a hundred roids if you can get
the information.”
“Right, I’ll get on it right away.”

DoUrden looked very concerned when Brows got off the phone. Brows simply stated, “That was Wakey. He wants us to find out about the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cardiff.”

“Why?”
“I don’t know DoU, I just don’t know.”

Wakey and bazz were racing across the country at a top speed of forty miles an hour. Bazz was beginning to look a little less rough by now.
“Er, Wakey, I just realised something. We’re in a car. You don’t own a car.”
“Yes.”
“The car is yellow. It looks like a lemon. This is Brows’ car, isn’t it?”
“Yes.”
“How come we’re in Brows’ car? Did he let you borrow it?”
“Yes.”
“Really?”
“Well, sort of. Look, can I borrow your phone? I appear to be a little lost.”

Meanwhile, DoUrden and Brows were pondering why Wakey had asked them to investigate the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cardiff, working out what had happened to Brows webcam, as well as waiting for anyone else to turn up. While waiting for the University of Cardiff to return their calls, they were watching the door intently. DoUrden sounded kind of depressed when he declared, "look, we’ve just got to face it, no-one’s going to turn up.”
Which are, of course, fateful last words. At that moment, the door swung open to reveal Carrotman. Brows felt this was sure to raise the spirits of DoU, who was concerned noone was going to get any astro scans, asking “you’ve come to start asteroid locations, haven’t you Carrotman?”
“Well, that would be difficult considering I don’t have an account this round.”
DoUrden’s face became even more annoyed.

Bazz and Wakey were rapidly approaching the golfing green at the allotted time.

“Did you just drive us all the way from Farnborough to Newcastle-under-Lyme?”
“Yes.”
“But you don’t have a driver’s licence!”
“That’s right.”
“What the heck do you think you’re doing!”
“Quiet bazz, you’ll freak out Simon. We don’t want him thinking we’re strange.”
“So you wanting to meet him because he shares your name isn’t weird, but being freaked out because you just
drove us two hundred kilometres
without a licence is?”
“That’s right. Now, get the laptop out.”
“What for?”
“Well, we need something to connect the webcam to, no?”
“How’s that going to record the event anyway?”
“I got onto Eddie. He’ll be watching. Everything will be sorted.”

The two of them approached the stranger, who announced, “My name’s Simon Wakefield.”
With bazz hanging around in the background, Wakey responded. “My name’s Timothy West and I’m a huge fan! Can you sign this for me?”
Bazz’s frown grew.

“Brows, your webcam is missing right?”
“Yes.”
“What if whoever pinched it is actually stupid enough to turn it on? We can hook up to it over the net and
see who’s got it!”
“Genius idea DoU, I’ll be right back.”

Brows emerged several minutes later, looking downhearted. “They’ve got it on alright, but it’s no bloody good. It’s just some bloke fooling about on a golf course.”

Wakey returned to the car looking satisfied. The first Simon Wakefield had been met. There were only fifty four left to meet.

With bazz hanging around in the background, Wakey responded. “My name’s Timothy West and I’m a huge fan! Can you sign this for me?”
Bazz’s frown grew.

“Brows, your webcam is missing right?”
“Yes.”
“What if whoever pinched it is actually stupid enough to turn it on? We can hook up to it over the net and see who’s got it!”
“Genius idea DoU, I’ll be right back.”

Brows emerged several minutes later, looking downhearted. “They’ve got it on alright, but it’s no bloody good. It’s just some bloke fooling about on a golf course.”

Wakey returned to the car looking satisfied. The first Simon Wakefield had been met. There were only fifty four left to meet.

Those two are quite possibly the first two people to singlehandly bring down a Planetarion alliance. You see, those words managed to de-rail [[F-Crew]] for the entirety of [[Round 7]]. Now, while [[Wakey]] is trying to convince you we get into dangerous situations, rescue [[Bazz]] and that [[Brows]] is the evil genius behind an elaborate plot to bring down the F-Crew HC, I’m going to tell you the truth. The sad truth. [[F-Crew]] doesn’t spend all round playing Planetarion, the entire alliance is geared to hunting down people with the name Simon Wakefield.

Now, this started in a pub. With [[Wakey]], [[Bazz]], [[Mike]] and [[Pelleon]]. Yes, [[Wakey]] was in a pub. I can hear everyone gasping now. Furthermore, they were drunk. No, [[Wakey]] wasn’t drunk, he was guzzling cokes. Now, in a discussion regarding the aforementioned book and Dave Gorman’s search for other Dave Gormans, [[Wakey]] got a little too enthusiastic and decided to make a bet regarding his real name, Simon Wakefield, and his possible aliases. '“You know what, I bet there are more Simon Wakefields out there than Dave Gormans. ”

[[Bazz]] seemed to take offence. “Look [[Wakey]], just face it, Simon Wakefield is a pretty rare name. You’re unique, you’re individual. Even if there were lots of Simon Wakefields out there, you’re not going to meet them. You haven’t got the time. You run a Planetarion alliance ffs .”

“Alright then, I bet that I can locate more Simon Wakefields than Dave met Dave Gormans .”

In his defence, [[Wakey]] says he was very high on caffeine. At least [[Bazz]] has the defence that he was drunk.

“And I bet you can’t. In the morning, this will all be forgotten, and you can get back to yelling
at [[LMO]] on IRC .”

So the gauntlet was thrown down.

The next morning [[Bazz]] woke up. Suffice to say he was feeling a little hung over. This was amplified when [[Wakey]] instructed him to “get his coat” and “meet him downstairs”.

Within two hours, they were on their way to Newcastle-under-Lyme. [[Bazz]], understandably, wasn’t pleased about this.

“[[Wakey]], it’s eight in the morning. You woke me up at six to drag me up to see what?
Another Simon Wakefield? The one I have here is enough for me! ”

“Don’t worry, we’ll be back in time for lunch .”

“I need to start my Asteroid Locations! At this rate, I’ll be at least six hours behind getting
asteroid scans! ”

“Yes! Especially when it’s compared to being dragged along to meet another Simon
Wakefield. I can do that whenever I want. Once you’ve met one, you’ve met them all. ”

why didn’t you just go down to the local green? It’s cheaper and nearer for crying out

famous golfing Dave Gormans, now, were there? I remembered last night that I had
encountered another Simon Wakefield. You know, he only just missed out in
some important golfing tournament ”

“Oh, whoop-de-doo! Where are we going anyway? ”

“Newcastle-upon-Lyme, home of Simon Wakefield. I rang this morning before you
got up and arranged to meet him at his local golf course. Thought it would be
amusing, though I’m not sure he did. He seemed a little sleepy. ”

“What kind of place is Newcastle-upon-Lyme? Why couldn’t he just live in Newcastle? What
did he say when you told him you were another Simon Wakefield? ”

“Er, I didn’t. I told him we were big fans of his. He seemed quite pleased. ”

“Probably doesn’t get a lot of fans. Certainly not psychotic ones. How are you going
to document this incident anyway? ”

“I borrowed [[Brows]]’ webcam.”

“You borrowed it? When did you have the time to do that? You got me up at six
bloody o’clock. What the blazes did [[Brows]] say when you asked him for his
webcam at five am? ”

Brows was clearly not having a good morning.

“One day into the round and things are already falling apart. Oi DoUrden, look, we’ve got a
lot of work to do. I can’t seem to raise Wakey or bazz at all. They must be out. Pell could be
away for days and no-one would notice. As for Mike, he seems to be idling more than usual.”

“Surely we can’t be the only ones awake? They have to be on to start their asteroid locations
or they’ll never get them in time. What about Rekki? Mono? LMO? Eddie? Dark Reaper?
Andrea? Wolflinn? CM? TSP?”

“Rekki’s Internet connection is down, Mono claims he’s discovered something called real life,
haven’t seen LMO or Eddie all morning, Dark Reaper’s still only talking about defecting back,
I can only assume Andrea’s off spamming somewhere, haven’t seen Wolflinn or CM either,
and TSP is off fixing himself a Full English breakfast.”

“Can’t you ring Wakey on his mobile?” DoU replied.

“Sure, if my phone hasn’t been pinched! Someone’s nicked me webcam!”

It took a few minutes for Brows to reach Wakey on the phone, but he did manage it.
“Wakey, where the blazes are you? We need you back here, not gallivanting off elsewhere. No one’s turned up and we need you for leadership, and to argue with LMO” Brows hollered into the phone, with DoU snickering when Wakey and leadership were mentioned.
“I’m heading to Newcastle-under-Lyme.”

“Why?”

“Don’t worry, I’ll get into that later.”

“What are we supposed to do now! Everyone seems to be out of it now.”

“Well, we have a very important mission. Tell everyone to forget about astro scans and quests. I need you to find out everything you can about the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cardiff.”

“Why?”

“Er, the council wants us to. It’s the new objective, and apparently you get a hundred roids if you can get the information.”

“Right, I’ll get on it right away.”

DoUrden looked very concerned when Brows got off the phone. Brows simply stated, “That was Wakey. He wants us to find out about the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cardiff.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know DoU, I just don’t know.”

Wakey and bazz were racing across the country at a top speed of forty miles an hour. Bazz was beginning to look a little less rough by now. “Er, Wakey, I just realised something. We’re in a car. You don’t own a car.”
“Yes.”

“The car is yellow. It looks like a lemon. This is Brows’ car, isn’t it?”

“Yes.”

“How come we’re in Brows’ car? Did he let you borrow it?”

“Yes.”

“Really?”

“Well, sort of. Look, can I borrow your phone? I appear to be a little lost.”

Meanwhile, DoUrden and Brows were pondering why Wakey had asked them to investigate the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cardiff, working out what had happened to Brows’ webcam, as well as waiting for anyone else to turn up. While waiting for the University of Cardiff to return their calls, they were watching the door intently. DoUrden sounded kind of depressed when he declared, look, we’ve just got to face it, no-one’s going to turn up.”
Which are, of course, fateful last words. At that moment, the door swung open to reveal Carrotman. Brows felt this was sure to raise the spirits of DoU, who was concerned noone was going to get any astro scans, asking “you’ve come to start asteroid locations, haven’t you Carrotman?”
“Well, that would be difficult considering I don’t have an account this round.”

Those two are quite possibly the first two people to singlehandly bring down a Planetarion alliance. You see, those words managed to de-rail [[F-Crew]] for the entirety of [[Round 7]]. Now, while [[Wakey]] is trying to convince you we get into dangerous situations, rescue [[Bazz]] and that [[Brows]] is the evil genius behind an elaborate plot to bring down the F-Crew HC, I’m going to tell you the truth. The sad truth. [[F-Crew]] doesn’t spend all round playing Planetarion, the entire alliance is geared to hunting down people with the name Simon Wakefield.

Now, this started in a pub. With [[Wakey]], [[Bazz]], [[Mike]] and [[Pelleon]]. Yes, [[Wakey]] was in a pub. I can hear everyone gasping now. Furthermore, they were drunk. No, [[Wakey]] wasn’t drunk, he was guzzling cokes. Now, in a discussion regarding the aforementioned book and Dave Gorman’s search for other Dave Gormans, [[Wakey]] got a little too enthusiastic and decided to make a bet regarding his real name, Simon Wakefield, and his possible aliases. '“You know what, I bet there are more Simon Wakefields out there than Dave Gormans. ”

[[Bazz]] seemed to take offence. “Look [[Wakey]], just face it, Simon Wakefield is a pretty rare name. You’re unique, you’re individual. Even if there were lots of Simon Wakefields out there, you’re not going to meet them. You haven’t got the time. You run a Planetarion alliance ffs .”

“Alright then, I bet that I can locate more Simon Wakefields than Dave met Dave Gormans .”

In his defence, [[Wakey]] says he was very high on caffeine. At least [[Bazz]] has the defence that he was drunk.

“And I bet you can’t. In the morning, this will all be forgotten, and you can get back to yelling
at [[LMO]] on IRC .”

So the gauntlet was thrown down.

The next morning [[Bazz]] woke up. Suffice to say he was feeling a little hung over. This was amplified when [[Wakey]] instructed him to “get his coat” and “meet him downstairs”.

Within two hours, they were on their way to Newcastle-under-Lyme. [[Bazz]], understandably, wasn’t pleased about this.

“[[Wakey]], it’s eight in the morning. You woke me up at six to drag me up to see what?
Another Simon Wakefield? The one I have here is enough for me! ”

“Don’t worry, we’ll be back in time for lunch .”

“I need to start my Asteroid Locations! At this rate, I’ll be at least six hours behind getting
asteroid scans! ”

“Yes! Especially when it’s compared to being dragged along to meet another Simon

Those two are quite possibly the first two people to singlehandly bring down a Planetarion alliance. You see, those words managed to de-rail [[F-Crew]] for the entirety of [[Round 7]]. Now, while [[Wakey]] is trying to convince you we get into dangerous situations, rescue [[Bazz]] and that [[Brows]] is the evil genius behind an elaborate plot to bring down the F-Crew HC, I’m going to tell you the truth. The sad truth. [[F-Crew]] doesn’t spend all round playing Planetarion, the entire alliance is geared to hunting down people with the name Simon Wakefield.

Now, this started in a pub. With [[Wakey]], [[Bazz]], [[Mike]] and [[Pelleon]]. Yes, [[Wakey]] was in a pub. I can hear everyone gasping now. Furthermore, they were drunk. No, [[Wakey]] wasn’t drunk, he was guzzling cokes. Now, in a discussion regarding the aforementioned book and Dave Gorman’s search for other Dave Gormans, [[Wakey]] got a little too enthusiastic and decided to make a bet regarding his real name, Simon Wakefield, and his possible aliases. In his defence, [[Wakey]] says he was very high on caffeine. At least [[Bazz]] has the defence that he was drunk.

So the gauntlet was thrown down.

The next morning [[Bazz]] woke up. Suffice to say he was feeling a little hung over. This was amplified when [[Wakey]] instructed him to “get his coat” and “meet him downstairs”.

Within two hours, they were on their way to Newcastle-under-Lyme. [[Bazz]], understandably, wasn’t pleased about this.

I can’t seem to raise Wakey or bazz at all. They must be out. Pell could be away for days and no-one would notice. As for Mike, he seems to be idling more than usual.”
“Surely we can’t be the only ones awake? They have to be on to start their asteroid locations or they’ll never get them in time. What about Rekki? Mono? LMO? Eddie? Dark Reaper? Andrea? Wolflinn? CM? TSP?”
“Rekki’s Internet connection is down, Mono claims he’s discovered something called real life, haven’t seen LMO or Eddie all morning, Dark Reaper’s still only talking about defecting back, I can only assume Andrea’s off spamming somewhere, haven’t seen Wolflinn or CM either, and TSP is off fixing himself a Full English breakfast.”
“Can’t you ring Wakey on his mobile?” DoU replied.
“Sure, if my phone hasn’t been pinched! Someone’s nicked me webcam!”
It took a few minutes for Brows to reach Wakey on the phone, but he did manage it.
“Wakey, where the blazes are you? We need you back here, not gallivanting off elsewhere. No one’s turned up and we need you for leadership, and to argue with LMO” Brows hollered into the phone, with DoU snickering when Wakey and leadership were mentioned.
“I’m heading to Newcastle-under-Lyme.”
“Why?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll get into that later.”
“What are we supposed to do now! Everyone seems to be out of it now.”
“Well, we have a very important mission. Tell everyone to forget about astro scans and quests. I need you to find out everything you can about the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cardiff.”
“Why?”
“Er, the council wants us to. It’s the new objective, and apparently you get a hundred roids if you can get the information.”
“Right, I’ll get on it right away.”
DoUrden looked very concerned when Brows got off the phone. Brows simply stated, “That was Wakey. He wants us to find out about the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cardiff.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know DoU, I just don’t know.”

Wakey and bazz were racing across the country at a top speed of forty miles an hour. Bazz was beginning to look a little less rough by now. “Er, Wakey, I just realised something. We’re in a car. You don’t own a car.”
“Yes.”
“The car is yellow. It looks like a lemon. This is Brows’ car, isn’t it?”
“Yes.”
“How come we’re in Brows’ car? Did he let you borrow it?”
“Yes.”
“Really?”
“Well, sort of. Look, can I borrow your phone? I appear to be a little lost.”

Meanwhile, DoUrden and Brows were pondering why Wakey had asked them to investigate the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cardiff, working out what had happened to Brows’ webcam, as well as waiting for anyone else to turn up. While waiting for the University of Cardiff to return their calls, they were watching the door intently. DoUrden sounded kind of depressed when he declared, “look, we’ve just got to face it, no-one’s going to turn up.”
Which are, of course, fateful last words. At that moment, the door swung open to reveal Carrotman. Brows felt this was sure to raise the spirits of DoU, who was concerned noone was going to get any astro scans, asking “you’ve come to start asteroid locations, haven’t you Carrotman?”
“Well, that would be difficult considering I don’t have an account this round.”
DoUrden’s face became even more annoyed.

Bazz and Wakey were rapidly approaching the golfing green at the allotted time.
“Did you just drive us all the way from Farnborough to Newcastle-under-Lyme?”
“Yes.”
“But you don’t have a driver’s licence!”
“That’s right.”
“What the heck do you think you’re doing!”
“Quiet bazz, you’ll freak out Simon. We don’t want him thinking we’re strange.”
“So you wanting to meet him because he shares your name isn’t weird, but being freaked out because you just drove us two hundred kilometres without a licence is?”
“That’s right. Now, get the laptop out.”
“What for?”
“Well, we need something to connect the webcam to, no?”
“How’s that going to record the event anyway?”
“I got onto Eddie. He’ll be watching. Everything will be sorted.”
The two of them approached the stranger, who announced, “My name’s Simon Wakefield.”
With bazz hanging around in the background, Wakey responded. “My name’s Timothy West and I’m a huge fan! Can you sign this for me?”
Bazz’s frown grew.

“Brows, your webcam is missing right?”
“Yes.”
“What if whoever pinched it is actually stupid enough to turn it on? We can hook up to it over the net and see who’s got it!”
“Genius idea DoU, I’ll be right back.”
Brows emerged several minutes later, looking downhearted. “They’ve got it on alright, but it’s no bloody good. It’s just some bloke fooling about on a golf course.”

Wakey returned to the car looking satisfied. The first Simon Wakefield had been met. There were only fifty four left to meet.

DoUrden looked very concerned when Brows got off the phone. Brows simply stated, “That was Wakey. He wants us to find out about the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cardiff.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know DoU, I just don’t know.”

Wakey and bazz were racing across the country at a top speed of forty miles an hour. Bazz was beginning to look a little less rough by now. “Er, Wakey, I just realised something. We’re in a car. You don’t own a car.”
“Yes.”
“The car is yellow. It looks like a lemon. This is Brows’ car, isn’t it?”
“Yes.”
“How come we’re in Brows’ car? Did he let you borrow it?”
“Yes.”
“Really?”
“Well, sort of. Look, can I borrow your phone? I appear to be a little lost.”

Meanwhile, DoUrden and Brows were pondering why Wakey had asked them to investigate the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cardiff, working out what had happened to Brows’ webcam, as well as waiting for anyone else to turn up. While waiting for the University of Cardiff to return their calls, they were watching the door intently. DoUrden sounded kind of depressed when he declared, “look, we’ve just got to face it, no-one’s going to turn up.”
Which are, of course, fateful last words. At that moment, the door swung open to reveal Carrotman. Brows felt this was sure to raise the spirits of DoU, who was concerned noone was going to get any astro scans, asking “you’ve come to start asteroid locations, haven’t you Carrotman?”
“Well, that would be difficult considering I don’t have an account this round.”
DoUrden’s face became even more annoyed.

Bazz and Wakey were rapidly approaching the golfing green at the allotted time.
“Did you just drive us all the way from Farnborough to Newcastle-under-Lyme?”
“Yes.”
“But you don’t have a driver’s licence!”
“That’s right.”
“What the heck do you think you’re doing!”
“Quiet bazz, you’ll freak out Simon. We don’t want him thinking we’re strange.”
“So you wanting to meet him because he shares your name isn’t weird, but being freaked out because you just drove us two hundred kilometres without a licence is?”
“That’s right. Now, get the laptop out.”
“What for?”
“Well, we need something to connect the webcam to, no?”
“How’s that going to record the event anyway?”
“I got onto Eddie. He’ll be watching. Everything will be sorted.”
The two of them approached the stranger, who announced, “My name’s Simon Wakefield.”
With bazz hanging around in the background, Wakey responded. “My name’s Timothy West and I’m a huge fan! Can you sign this for me?”
Bazz’s frown grew.

“Brows, your webcam is missing right?”
“Yes.”
“What if whoever pinched it is actually stupid enough to turn it on? We can hook up to it over the net and see who’s got it!”
“Genius idea DoU, I’ll be right back.”
Brows emerged several minutes later, looking downhearted. “They’ve got it on alright, but it’s no bloody good. It’s just some bloke fooling about on a golf course.”

Wakey returned to the car looking satisfied. The first Simon Wakefield had been met. There were only fifty four left to meet.

The real BrOwS would like me to point out he's extremely active and getting his car stolen has absolutely no reflection on his former position of attack minister. Or on his driving capabilities.

Those two are quite possibly the first two people to singlehandly bring down a Planetarion alliance. You see, those words managed to de-rail F-Crew for the entirety of round 7. Now, while Wakey is trying to convince you we get into dangerous situations, rescue bazz and that Brows is the evil genius behind an elaborate plot to bring down F-Crew HC, I’m going to tell you the truth. The sad truth. F-Crew doesn’t spend all round playing Planetarion, the entire alliance is geared to hunting down people with the name Simon Wakefield.

Now, this started in a pub. With Wakey, bazz, Mike and Pell. Yes, Wakey was in a pub. I can hear everyone gasping now. Furthermore, they were drunk. No, Wakey wasn’t drunk, he was guzzling cokes. Now, in a discussion regarding the aforementioned book and Dave Gorman’s search for other Dave Gormans, Wakey got a little too enthusiastic and decided to make a bet regarding his real name, Simon Wakefield, and his possible aliases. “You know what, I bet there are more Simon Wakefields out there than Dave Gormans.”
Bazz seemed to take offence. “Look Wakey, just face it, Simon Wakefield is a pretty rare name. You’re unique, you’re individual. Even if there were lots of Simon Wakefields out there, you’re not going to meet them. You haven’t got the time. You run a Planetarion alliance ffs.”
“Alright then, I bet that I can locate more Simon Wakefields than Dave met Dave Gormans.”
In his defence, Wakey says he was very high on caffeine. At least bazz has the defence that he was drunk.
“And I bet you can’t. In the morning, this will all be forgotten, and you can get back to yelling at LMO on IRC.”
So the gauntlet was thrown down.

The next morning bazz woke up. Suffice to say he was feeling a little hung over. This was amplified when Wakey instructed him to “get his coat” and “meet him downstairs”.

Within two hours, they were on their way to Newcastle-under-Lyme. Bazz, understandably, wasn’t pleased about this.
“Wakey, it’s eight in the morning. You woke me up at six to drag me up to see what? Another Simon Wakefield? The one I have here is enough for me!”
“Don’t worry, we’ll be back in time for lunch.”
“I need to start my Asteroid Locations! At this rate, I’ll be at least six hours behind getting asteroid scans!”
“Bazz, when you look at it like that, does it really matter?
“Yes! Especially when it’s compared to being dragged along to meet another Simon Wakefield. I can do that whenever I want. Once you’ve met one, you’ve met them all.”
“This one’s a very special Simon Wakefield. He’s a golfer.”
“Oh great. The only sport more boring than cricket. Man, if you wanted to play golf, why didn’t you just go down to the local green? It’s cheaper and nearer for crying out loud!”
“Simon isn’t just any golfer. He’s a golfer on the PGA European tour. There weren’t any famous golfing Dave Gormans, now, were there? I remembered last night that I had encountered another Simon Wakefield. You know, he only just missed out in some important golfing tournament”
“Oh, whoop-de-doo! Where are we going anyway?”
“Newcastle-upon-Lyme, home of Simon Wakefield. I rang this morning before you got up and arranged to meet him at his local golf course. Thought it would be amusing, though I’m not sure he did. He seemed a little sleepy.”
“What kind of place is Newcastle-upon-Lyme? Why couldn’t he just live in Newcastle? What did he say when you told him you were another Simon Wakefield?”
“Er, I didn’t. I told him we were big fans of his. He seemed quite pleased.”
“Probably doesn’t get a lot of fans. Certainly not psychotic ones. How are you going to document this incident anyway?”
“I borrowed Brows’ webcam.”
“You borrowed it? When did you have the time to do that? You got me up at six bloody o’clock. What the blazes did Brows say when you asked him for his webcam at five am?”
“This is not the time to get into that bazz …”

“Where the hell is my webcam?”. Brows was clearly not having a good morning. “One day into the round and things are already falling apart. Oi DoUrden, look, we’ve got a lot of work to do. I can’t seem to raise Wakey or bazz at all. They must be out. Pell could be away for days and no-one would notice. As for Mike, he seems to be idling more than usual.”
“Surely we can’t be the only ones awake? They have to be on to start their asteroid locations or they’ll never get them in time. What about Rekki? Mono? LMO? Eddie? Dark Reaper? Andrea? Wolflinn? CM? TSP?”
“Rekki’s Internet connection is down, Mono claims he’s discovered something called real life, haven’t seen LMO or Eddie all morning, Dark Reaper’s still only talking about defecting back, I can only assume Andrea’s off spamming somewhere, haven’t seen Wolflinn or CM either, and TSP is off fixing himself a Full English breakfast.”
“Can’t you ring Wakey on his mobile?” DoU replied.
“Sure, if my phone hasn’t been pinched! Someone’s nicked me webcam!”
It took a few minutes for Brows to reach Wakey on the phone, but he did manage it.
“Wakey, where the blazes are you? We need you back here, not gallivanting off elsewhere. No one’s turned up and we need you for leadership, and to argue with LMO” Brows hollered into the phone, with DoU snickering when Wakey and leadership were mentioned.
“I’m heading to Newcastle-under-Lyme.”
“Why?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll get into that later.”
“What are we supposed to do now! Everyone seems to be out of it now.”

It is a simple question, but one that has baffled scientists for months. What happens when you take
a group of 6 Planetarion alliance HC and place theme into a theme park? Would they be able to cope
with the socialising required? Would they be able to go a whole day with very little talk of
Planetarion, and actually seem like normal people? And perhaps most importantly, would Wakey end
up in the rapids? These were the all important questions that a group of us set out to answer on a
hot sunday in July.

The guinea pigs: [[Eddie]], [[DoUrden]], [[Wakey]], [[Mike]], [[Pelleon]], [[Bazz]] and Lavis [another Farnborough
export]. Arriving at the park around 10:15, I was quickly greeted by DoUrden and then introduced to
the rest of the gang. Any images that I had built up of these people in the past year were quickly
shattered in the course of about ten seconds. However, there was little time for idle chatting at the
start as bazz and Wakey were on a mission, one of getting all of us onto the worlds first 10 loop
rollercoaster, Collosus, the newest attraction of the park.

Bravely we all headed off and joined the queue, which was around an hour long. The time was filled
with around half casual conversation, and around half mutterings of how crazy we were to even be
queuing for this thing. We were getting closer and closer to the front of the queue, when all of a
sudden the ride, very unfortunately, broke down. Saved by the bell so to speak. We were issued
tickets on the way out for a quick re-entry to the ride later on when it re-opened, something that
some of us wasn't sure was a good or bad thing.

Not detered by this bad luck, we headed on over to Tidal Wave, another new ride at the park, that is
basically a 90 foot drop, at a speed that throws a ton of water into the air, which of course all lands
back on the riders, hence the name. After a queue nearing 90 minutes, we finally made it to the ride
itself. Whilst this didn't seem particularly fun at the time, probably because I'd never been on
anything similar before, looking back it was actually pretty fun, although I fear I may have warped
any small children behind me with my expletives on the way down. To say we were wet after this
was an understatement, something demonstrated when bazz removed his park map from his pocket,
opened it, when it proceeded to fall to pieces.

The next stop of the day was Burger King, something we all enjoyed on a bench outside, in some
kind of attempt to let the sun dry us off. It seemed to work very well though, as the only sign we'd
even been wet was the large quantities of water left on the benches when we left. Of course, after
this, we of course headed to another water ride, the Rumba Rapids. Rather tame in comparison to
Tidal Wave, we still managed to get slightly wet.

After this the fateful return to Collosus arrived. However, by this time, myself, Mike, Pell and Lavis
were all having some rather large doubts, and agreed that Wakey, bazz and Dou should head on
alone, while the rest of us would find enough excitement in just watching the others. However, Dou
returned a couple of minutes later, informing us that he couldn't get into the seat properly, and as
such wasn't allowed to go on the ride. This just left Wakey and bazz, who came off raving about how
great it was. Suffice to say we wasn't particularly convinced.

This was immediately followed by a trip to X:\No Way Out, a backwards, indoors, in darkness with
strobe lighting rollercoaster. The others joined the queue while I made use of the facilities, and by
the time I returned they were already near the front of the queue, so rather than queue jump, I
bought a bottle of ice cold coke and awaited their exit. I considered this a good decision when they
exited with bazz looking slightly icky and Pell complaining of headaches because of it.

across to Thorpe Farm on the Canada Creek railway, which was rather relaxing. We walked straight
through the farm and headed to the ferry jetty to make a return to the main park, largely because
leaving Dou anywhere near sheep isn't a great idea. After a quick look round Model World, which has
supposedly to scale replicas of world landmarks, it was time to head home. We said our goodbyes
and that was that.

Unfortunately no one did actually bring a camera [well, Mike did, but left it in the car], so we have no
pictures from the day [trust me, thats a good thing]. All in all it was a highly enjoyable day all round,
despite the immense amounts of tiredness, pain and sunburn that has followed. But perhaps most
importantly of all, we proved that Planetarion players can leave their PCs for more than a couple of
hours and actually enjoy themselves, even in the company of each other.

It is a simple question, but one that has baffled scientists for months. What happens when you take
a group of 6 Planetarion alliance HC and place theme into a theme park? Would they be able to cope
with the socialising required? Would they be able to go a whole day with very little talk of
Planetarion, and actually seem like normal people? And perhaps most importantly, would Wakey end
up in the rapids? These were the all important questions that a group of us set out to answer on a
hot sunday in July.

The guinea pigs: Eddie, DoUrden, Wakey, Mike, Pelleon, bazz and Lavis [another Farnborough
export]. Arriving at the park around 10:15, I was quickly greeted by DoUrden and then introduced to
the rest of the gang. Any images that I had built up of these people in the past year were quickly
shattered in the course of about ten seconds. However, there was little time for idle chatting at the
start as bazz and Wakey were on a mission, one of getting all of us onto the worlds first 10 loop
rollercoaster, Collosus, the newest attraction of the park.

Bravely we all headed off and joined the queue, which was around an hour long. The time was filled
with around half casual conversation, and around half mutterings of how crazy we were to even be
queuing for this thing. We were getting closer and closer to the front of the queue, when all of a
sudden the ride, very unfortunately, broke down. Saved by the bell so to speak. We were issued
tickets on the way out for a quick re-entry to the ride later on when it re-opened, something that
some of us wasn't sure was a good or bad thing.

Not detered by this bad luck, we headed on over to Tidal Wave, another new ride at the park, that is
basically a 90 foot drop, at a speed that throws a ton of water into the air, which of course all lands
back on the riders, hence the name. After a queue nearing 90 minutes, we finally made it to the ride
itself. Whilst this didn't seem particularly fun at the time, probably because I'd never been on
anything similar before, looking back it was actually pretty fun, although I fear I may have warped
any small children behind me with my expletives on the way down. To say we were wet after this
was an understatement, something demonstrated when bazz removed his park map from his pocket,
opened it, when it proceeded to fall to pieces.

The next stop of the day was Burger King, something we all enjoyed on a bench outside, in some
kind of attempt to let the sun dry us off. It seemed to work very well though, as the only sign we'd
even been wet was the large quantities of water left on the benches when we left. Of course, after
this, we of course headed to another water ride, the Rumba Rapids. Rather tame in comparison to
Tidal Wave, we still managed to get slightly wet.

After this the fateful return to Collosus arrived. However, by this time, myself, Mike, Pell and Lavis
were all having some rather large doubts, and agreed that Wakey, bazz and Dou should head on
alone, while the rest of us would find enough excitement in just watching the others. However, Dou
returned a couple of minutes later, informing us that he couldn't get into the seat properly, and as
such wasn't allowed to go on the ride. This just left Wakey and bazz, who came off raving about how
great it was. Suffice to say we wasn't particularly convinced.

This was immediately followed by a trip to X:\No Way Out, a backwards, indoors, in darkness with
strobe lighting rollercoaster. The others joined the queue while I made use of the facilities, and by
the time I returned they were already near the front of the queue, so rather than queue jump, I
bought a bottle of ice cold coke and awaited their exit. I considered this a good decision when they
exited with bazz looking slightly icky and Pell complaining of headaches because of it.

== Background ==
'''F-Crew''' was founded by [[Bazz]], [[Mike]] and [[Wakey]] back in round 1 while sitting in the local McDonalds. [[Bazz]] and [[Mike]] had just been introduced to [[Planetarion]] by [[Wakey]] and together they quickly realised they weren't the only ones at their 6th Form College to be playing this new game. So F-Crew was born with the goal to serve these people, although it quickly became an alliance to serve the whole Farnborough Community.

The alliances turning point came at the start of our second week with the application of [[Seventh]] to join our ranks. While he wasnt from Farnborough he was from just down the road and from here on the requirement to be a resident of Farnborough was dropped. This obviously saw a change in F-Crews aims, these new aims somewhat mirrored those of [[IPC]]'s which quickly led to the two alliances forming a friendship that would pretty much last until [[IPC]] disbanded its PA operations in Round 10.5, after playing that round with their members under the F-Crew tag.

The 3rd F-Crew Meet took place at Thorpe Park in the last week of July 2002. In attendance was [[Wakey]], [[Mike]], [[Pelleon]], [[DoUrden]], [[Bazz]] and [[Eddie]]. Below is Eddies Account of that day

It is a simple question, but one that has baffled scientists for months. What happens when you take
a group of 6 Planetarion alliance HC and place theme into a theme park? Would they be able to cope
with the socialising required? Would they be able to go a whole day with very little talk of
Planetarion, and actually seem like normal people? And perhaps most importantly, would Wakey end
up in the rapids? These were the all important questions that a group of us set out to answer on a
hot sunday in July.

The guinea pigs: Eddie, DoUrden, Wakey, Mike, Pelleon, bazz and Lavis [another Farnborough
export]. Arriving at the park around 10:15, I was quickly greeted by DoUrden and then introduced to
the rest of the gang. Any images that I had built up of these people in the past year were quickly
shattered in the course of about ten seconds. However, there was little time for idle chatting at the
start as bazz and Wakey were on a mission, one of getting all of us onto the worlds first 10 loop
rollercoaster, Collosus, the newest attraction of the park.

Bravely we all headed off and joined the queue, which was around an hour long. The time was filled
with around half casual conversation, and around half mutterings of how crazy we were to even be
queuing for this thing. We were getting closer and closer to the front of the queue, when all of a
sudden the ride, very unfortunately, broke down. Saved by the bell so to speak. We were issued
tickets on the way out for a quick re-entry to the ride later on when it re-opened, something that
some of us wasn't sure was a good or bad thing.

Not detered by this bad luck, we headed on over to Tidal Wave, another new ride at the park, that is
basically a 90 foot drop, at a speed that throws a ton of water into the air, which of course all lands
back on the riders, hence the name. After a queue nearing 90 minutes, we finally made it to the ride
itself. Whilst this didn't seem particularly fun at the time, probably because I'd never been on
anything similar before, looking back it was actually pretty fun, although I fear I may have warped
any small children behind me with my expletives on the way down. To say we were wet after this
was an understatement, something demonstrated when bazz removed his park map from his pocket,
opened it, when it proceeded to fall to pieces.

The next stop of the day was Burger King, something we all enjoyed on a bench outside, in some
kind of attempt to let the sun dry us off. It seemed to work very well though, as the only sign we'd
even been wet was the large quantities of water left on the benches when we left. Of course, after
this, we of course headed to another water ride, the Rumba Rapids. Rather tame in comparison to
Tidal Wave, we still managed to get slightly wet.

After this the fateful return to Collosus arrived. However, by this time, myself, Mike, Pell and Lavis
were all having some rather large doubts, and agreed that Wakey, bazz and Dou should head on
alone, while the rest of us would find enough excitement in just watching the others. However, Dou
returned a couple of minutes later, informing us that he couldn't get into the seat properly, and as
such wasn't allowed to go on the ride. This just left Wakey and bazz, who came off raving about how
great it was. Suffice to say we wasn't particularly convinced.

This was immediately followed by a trip to X:\No Way Out, a backwards, indoors, in darkness with
strobe lighting rollercoaster. The others joined the queue while I made use of the facilities, and by
the time I returned they were already near the front of the queue, so rather than queue jump, I
bought a bottle of ice cold coke and awaited their exit. I considered this a good decision when they
exited with bazz looking slightly icky and Pell complaining of headaches because of it.

By this time we hadn't been wet again for a couple of hours, and so it was obviously time to head to
Logger's Leap, the ride with the longest queue in the park, somewhere in the region of 90 minutes.
Wakey assured us that this would be tame before the ride, only once we were on it did he decide to
inform that not only did it feature one drop in the dark, but that it was also the tallest log flume in
the country. To make matters worse, bazz decided that rocking the boat from side to side would add
to the fun, something Wakey also took part in. Combine this with the fact that the boat was so
cramped I was virtually sitting on top of Lavis [don't worry Andrea, I didn't enjoy it], and this fast
became one of the least fun parts of the day, although it was easy to laugh about afterwards.

The day was drawing to a close by now, and so we enjoyed an ice cream in the shade before heading
across to Thorpe Farm on the Canada Creek railway, which was rather relaxing. We walked straight
through the farm and headed to the ferry jetty to make a return to the main park, largely because
leaving Dou anywhere near sheep isn't a great idea. After a quick look round Model World, which has
supposedly to scale replicas of world landmarks, it was time to head home. We said our goodbyes
and that was that.

Unfortunately no one did actually bring a camera [well, Mike did, but left it in the car], so we have no
pictures from the day [trust me, thats a good thing]. All in all it was a highly enjoyable day all round,
despite the immense amounts of tiredness, pain and sunburn that has followed. But perhaps most
importantly of all, we proved that Planetarion players can leave their PCs for more than a couple of
hours and actually enjoy themselves, even in the company of each other.

== Background ==
'''F-Crew''' was founded by [[Bazz]], [[Mike]] and [[Wakey]] back in round 1 while sitting in the local McDonalds. [[Bazz]] and [[Mike]] had just been introduced to [[Planetarion]] by [[Wakey]] and together they quickly realised they weren't the only ones at their 6th Form College to be playing this new game. So F-Crew was born with the goal to serve these people, although it quickly became an alliance to serve the whole Farnborough Community.

The alliances turning point came at the start of our second week with the application of [[Seventh]] to join our ranks. While he wasnt from Farnborough he was from just down the road and from here on the requirement to be a resident of Farnborough was dropped. This obviously saw a change in F-Crews aims, these new aims somewhat mirrored those of [[IPC]]'s which quickly led to the two alliances forming a friendship that would pretty much last until [[IPC]] disbanded its PA operations in Round 10.5, after playing that round with their members under the F-Crew tag.

basically a 90 foot drop, at a speed that throws a ton of water into the air, which of course all lands
back on the riders, hence the name. After a queue nearing 90 minutes, we finally made it to the ride
itself. Whilst this didn't seem particularly fun at the time, probably because I'd never been on
anything similar before, looking back it was actually pretty fun, although I fear I may have warped
any small children behind me with my expletives on the way down. To say we were wet after this
was an understatement, something demonstrated when bazz removed his park map from his pocket,
opened it, when it proceeded to fall to pieces.

The next stop of the day was Burger King, something we all enjoyed on a bench outside, in some
kind of attempt to let the sun dry us off. It seemed to work very well though, as the only sign we'd
even been wet was the large quantities of water left on the benches when we left. Of course, after
this, we of course headed to another water ride, the Rumba Rapids. Rather tame in comparison to
Tidal Wave, we still managed to get slightly wet.

After this the fateful return to Collosus arrived. However, by this time, myself, Mike, Pell and Lavis
were all having some rather large doubts, and agreed that Wakey, bazz and Dou should head on
alone, while the rest of us would find enough excitement in just watching the others. However, Dou
returned a couple of minutes later, informing us that he couldn't get into the seat properly, and as
such wasn't allowed to go on the ride. This just left Wakey and bazz, who came off raving about how
great it was. Suffice to say we wasn't particularly convinced.

This was immediately followed by a trip to X:\No Way Out, a backwards, indoors, in darkness with
strobe lighting rollercoaster. The others joined the queue while I made use of the facilities, and by
the time I returned they were already near the front of the queue, so rather than queue jump, I
bought a bottle of ice cold coke and awaited their exit. I considered this a good decision when they
exited with bazz looking slightly icky and Pell complaining of headaches because of it.

By this time we hadn't been wet again for a couple of hours, and so it was obviously time to head to
Logger's Leap, the ride with the longest queue in the park, somewhere in the region of 90 minutes.
Wakey assured us that this would be tame before the ride, only once we were on it did he decide to
inform that not only did it feature one drop in the dark, but that it was also the tallest log flume in
the country. To make matters worse, bazz decided that rocking the boat from side to side would add
to the fun, something Wakey also took part in. Combine this with the fact that the boat was so
cramped I was virtually sitting on top of Lavis [don't worry Andrea, I didn't enjoy it], and this fast
became one of the least fun parts of the day, although it was easy to laugh about afterwards.

The day was drawing to a close by now, and so we enjoyed an ice cream in the shade before heading
across to Thorpe Farm on the Canada Creek railway, which was rather relaxing. We walked straight
through the farm and headed to the ferry jetty to make a return to the main park, largely because
leaving Dou anywhere near sheep isn't a great idea. After a quick look round Model World, which has
supposedly to scale replicas of world landmarks, it was time to head home. We said our goodbyes
and that was that.

Unfortunately no one did actually bring a camera [well, Mike did, but left it in the car], so we have no
pictures from the day [trust me, thats a good thing]. All in all it was a highly enjoyable day all round,
despite the immense amounts of tiredness, pain and sunburn that has followed. But perhaps most
importantly of all, we proved that Planetarion players can leave their PCs for more than a couple of
hours and actually enjoy themselves, even in the company of each other.
